Early models of the atom had a problem: they described electrons as classical particles, but attributing only particle properties to electrons resulted in models of atoms that could not exist! However, we know atoms do exist. In this workshop, we will share student activities that explore the wave-like properties of electrons and how they can explain the characteristic shapes of atomic orbitals.
This workshop introduces ChatterHigh to Science teachers with an exciting new activity provided by Environment and Climate Change Canada called “Embracing Nature’s Climate Solutions”, available in French and English for grades 6-12. ChatterHigh’ gamified resources are created in partnership with, and funded by, the content authority. Examples include “Learn About Your Taxes” by the CRA, and WorkSafeBC…by…you guessed it, WorkSafeBC!
Discover hands-on approaches to STEM learning that equip students for high school and beyond. Attendees will explore updated activities with the Vernier Go Direct® sensors to model real-world phenomena.
