Calling all teacher rocket enthusiasts! Award-winning Science educators Phillip Freeman and Darren Ng will show you how to introduce Rocket Science to your students in hands on, budget-friendly ways guaranteed to inspire your students’ curiosity, develop their data analysis skills, and quite possibly, wake up your neighbours!
Aspiring rocket educator engineers will build Darren’s all-time favorite rocket science demonstration relevant to the BC Grade 8-10 junior science curriculum, the new and improved, $3 alcohol bottle rocket launcher! Even better, ALL participants will get to TAKE HOME their creations, ready for immediate and safe launch with their students! Right after, Philip will show teachers how to use the data from their rocket launch to analyse the motion and energy of their rocket, connecting to both the Grade 10 and Physics 11 curriculum in ways that help students to see the explosive reality behind the abstract science. Indeed, sometimes it really IS rocket Science!
